One Week

It has been one week since The Bones of Saint Pierre has been released. Last week at this time I was excited, emotional and slightly hungover from The Taste of Colonia the night before. This past week has been a range of emotion that I could have never imagined. I wasn’t sure this book would ever see the light of day, then I thought it may be a short story, then a bit longer, until it became what it is today.

I have heard from so many people whether by phone, text, Messenger, FB, Instagram, Linked In or in person. It really is humbling. I love all the pictures on FB of so many, with their copies of the book. That has been really fun for me. A few people have finished the book and they are already wondering when the next book is coming, I am working on it.

Thank You to everyone for making this week something beyond my wildest dreams. I hope to thank everyone in person at some point. I will be making several appearances at some fun places and will post as soon as I confirm dates. Meanwhile, enjoy “The Bones” and if you purchased through Amazon, I would appreciate a review of the book once you are finished. That would be very helpful and I would love to know your thoughts.

I am just a regular guy who wrote a book, but all of you have made this an experience I can’t even begin to explain. The love you have shown is off the charts and means the world to me. You are all Amazing!!!

Here is a picture of the Metropolitan Museum at night. It Is where Mason begins his adventure, and where I began mine six years ago.

Published

Six years ago I started to write a story, never knowing where it would end up. As I sit here, I almost can’t believe it, but The Bones of Saint Pierre is now on Amazon.com. The Kindle version and the paperback are both available. THANK YOU to everyone who has reached out or liked a post, or shared a post, you are the lifeblood of any author. I have read Mason and Collette’s story about 15 times and I am really proud of it. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I did writing it. CHEERS!!!

Home Stretch

Things are moving very quickly now with the release date for The Bones of Saint Pierre about two weeks away. I’m excited to announce my first book signing event. I will be discussing the book, selling and signing copies at Woodbridge Main Public Library on Tuesday March 19th at 7PM. It is located at 1 George Frederick Plaza, Woodbridge, New Jersey. Come down and join me as I celebrate a six year on and off journey, that has become The Bones of Saint Pierre.

Final Stages

I am reviewing the final manuscript right now. We should be to the printer by the end of the week. Mason and Collette have been a part of my life for six years, I am excited for everyone to finally read their story. #BonesofStPierre

November 11th, 2013

“The rain was coming down heavier now, like machine gun fire from the sky” With that first sentence in 2013 started this journey of attempting to write a story, not a book. One sentence turned into a paragraph, then a chapter and 5 years later a book. Though that first line has changed many times, the story remained the same.

As I am on the verge of publishing that story which started out as “The Shadows of War” and has now become “The Bones of Saint Pierre”, I think about all the people who have helped along the way. I only told a few people I was writing a book, because I wasn’t sure I would ever finish it. I wrote on and off for 5 years and edited countless times.

I have a long list of people I would like to thank: Lori, you convinced me to write that first line and encouraged me to keep going. You were my editor, spellchecker and my grammar police. This does not happen without you. My sister Carolyn, who edited the first 10 chapters and gave me the first writing advice I ever received. She now lives in Japan and I can’t wait for her to read what this has become. Paul McMahon, you took the time over a two hour phone call to give me your opinion and we went over the chapters one by one. Your insight was truly appreciated. I still remember the last thing you said to me on that phone call. “I want to know what happens to Mason Wright.” As a writer that’s what you hope, after someone reads your words, they want more.

I sent chapters to many people, once I told everyone I was writing a book. Some read 3, 6, 10 or as many as 20 chapters. The one prevailing theme from everyone, is they wanted more. Holly and Nancy, I had to cut you off at 20 because I wanted to leave you hanging. My brother John kept emailing me while he was on vacation in Alaska to send more to read. Rich, Catherine, Tony, Kellen, Travis, Ellen, Lois, Abes, Gabor, Dana, Marian, Jerry, Mileidy, Lisa, Bob and everyone else who helped along the way. I can’t thank you enough for taking the time to read something that was still a work in progress, and for offering your opinions as I furiously sent you cover choices.

Though my name is on the cover of the book, a part of all of you helped make it a reality. I really hope we can enjoy this ride together. I have a call with the publisher tomorrow to discuss the book launch. Stay tuned…

The Bones of Saint Pierre…Coming in February 2019.

As the world heads toward war, who can save France’s greatest treasures?

On a rainy night in New York City, Mason Wright receives a surprise visit from his old flame, Collette Moulie. Despite his misgivings, he agrees to help her and her father in a risky, and probably illegal plan to save the art treasures of France from a possible Nazi invasion.

Mason immediately finds himself caught up in a world of fine art, stolen paintings, master forgeries…and the men who will stop at nothing to acquire them. Traveling to France Mason realizes that he has suddenly become one of the most wanted men in all of Europe.

Putting his life in the hands of a man he barely knows, Mason traverses the catacombs and streets of Paris, pursued by black marketeers and German spies. Mason learns early on that there is no one he can trust.   Can he find his way out of France before the Blitzkrieg begins?
